WP4 progress: AMEA's communication plan in action
On the day AMEA presents its first year to CINEA and the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking in Brussels, here is how Work Package 4 has been sharing the project's work: a plan approved by the SESAR 3 JU, AMEA at key aviation events, a new website, LinkedIn, X and a quarterly newsletter.

On 22 October 2026, AMEA holds its first annual review in Brussels with CINEA and the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking. Work Package 4, led by Obizco, makes sure the project's work and results reach airlines, air navigation service providers, industry, institutions and the wider public.
A plan approved by the SESAR 3 JU
WP4's roadmap is the Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation Plan (D4.1), approved by the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking. It follows the life of the project: awareness in year 1, the demonstrations in years 2 and 3, results and exploitation in year 4. AMEA communicates at milestones, demonstrations and major events rather than on a weekly rhythm, around three messages:
- more and more airspace users rely on operational multilink datalink, which is reliable and efficient;
- ATN/IPS will bring extended performance and functions, including security;
- European air navigation service providers will benefit from multilink deployment, with ATS B2 services adding capacity and reliability and reducing the carbon footprint.
What has been done
- November 2025 and June 2026: AMEA was introduced at the ESMA dissemination events.
- March 2026: WP4 kicked off, and the project's LinkedIn page published its first post.
- May 2026: AMEA was presented at Airspace World 2026 in Lisbon.
- September 2026: AMEA was the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking's Project of the Month, and was presented at the Connecting Europe Days in Brussels.
- 13 October 2026: the new website ameaproject.eu went live, with the project's X account, @AMEAproject_eu, and a quarterly newsletter.
- October 2026: the first progress updates, for WP2 and WP3.
Feeding the standards
Dissemination also means bringing results to the groups that write the rules. A dedicated WP4 task, led by Collins Aerospace, follows the standardisation and industry groups where AMEA's results count: ICAO working groups on ATN/OSI and ATN/IPS, EUROCAE WG-108 and RTCA SC-223 for the IPS standards, AEEC, and EUROCONTROL's CNS groups.
What comes next
- A recap of the first annual review, on this website and on our channels.
- A progress update for each work package at every major milestone.
- The start of the flight campaign in early 2027.
- Two stakeholder workshops and a Demo Day, to be announced on this website. See upcoming events.
